From "Yes" to Forever | A Georgia Proposal & Engagement Story
There is a certain ease that comes from loving someone for a long time. Not the kind of love that's loud or constantly asking for attention, but the kind that settles in and becomes part of your everyday life.
That's what I saw while photographing Khalil and Kierra. Some stories deserve more than a single chapter. For Khalil and Kierra, this season began with a proposal and ended with the quiet excitement of preparing for marriage.
The two of them share a quiet chemistry. They're not the couple trying to be the center of attention. In fact, they're both fairly reserved. But when they're together, there's a comfort between them that doesn't need much explanation. The laughter comes naturally. The conversation flows easily. And the silence never feels awkward. The day started with horseback riding and a surprise waiting just around the corner. Nestled beside the water was a thoughtfully planned picnic, where Khalil asked one of the most important questions of his life.
And she said, “yes!!!”
One of my favorite things about documenting this season was getting to witness both the excitement of the proposal and the calm that followed. While engagement often feels like a whirlwind, Khalil and Kierra seemed completely at ease with one another.
They laughed often. They moved naturally together. And there was never a need to force a moment.
Later, we met again for their engagement session surrounded by the beauty of one of Atlanta's hidden waterfall locations. The setting was completely different, but the feeling remained the same.
Comfort. Friendship. Joy. The kind that comes from building a life with someone who already feels like home.
Looking back, these images tell more than the story of a proposal or an engagement session. They capture a season—a collection of moments before the wedding day arrived and everything changed. And sometimes those seasons are worth remembering just as much as the wedding itself.
