A Sunday Afternoon Kind of Love
If you've ever wondered whether opposites attract, Gabby and Justin might just be the perfect example.
From the moment I first connected with Gabby, she was nothing but warm, kind, and incredibly thoughtful. Every email and message felt like hearing from a friend. She has a bubbly personality that instantly puts people at ease and brings so much joy to those around her.
Justin, on the other hand, is a little more reserved. Thoughtful, quiet, and wonderfully nerdy, he brings a calm presence that complements Gabby's energy so well. Together, they have a relationship that feels both playful and effortless.
We met in Cordele, Georgia, for their engagement session, a location that feels like it's tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by wide-open fields, towering oak trees, and peaceful countryside views, it ended up being the perfect backdrop for a couple who values simplicity and genuine connection.
One of my favorite things about photographing Gabby and Justin was how comfortable they were together. There was no pressure to perform for the camera. Instead, the session felt full of quiet moments, laughter, and little interactions that reflected who they are in everyday life.
As we wandered through the property, it became clear that their relationship is built on friendship just as much as romance. Whether they were sharing a laugh, getting lost in conversation, or simply enjoying the evening together, there was a natural ease between them that made documenting their connection incredibly special.
Looking back on these images now, I love knowing that this session captured a season of anticipation before all the celebrations to come. Their journey would eventually take them across two wedding celebrations: one in the United States and another in Japan—allowing them to celebrate with loved ones from both sides of their story.
But before the wedding days, before the travel, and before all the excitement that followed, there was this quiet evening in Cordele. Just Gabby and Justin, enjoying being together.
And honestly, that's my favorite part of their story.
